Implementing Digital and Global Health Programs

Executing sustainable and impactful digital health initiatives in Africa with our expertise and robust local networks

Our Solutions

Medical Learning Hub

The Problem

Continuous education, capacity building, and development of Africa’s health workforce faces significant inefficiencies. This is due to a heavy reliance on manual tracking of attendance and learning outcomes, the existence of numerous yet disjointed eLearning platforms, and complex, fragmented national processes for accrediting professional credits (CME/CPD points).
This is not just about bringing change; it’s a revolution in healthcare worker education and upskilling

The solution

Imagine Africa leading the way in healthcare education, powered by innovation. This is at the heart of Medical Learning Hub (MLH), our flagship initiative. Understanding the enormity of this challenge, we operate as a true tech startup—swift, passionate, agile, and always listening to our users—to create a platform that they truly love!

MLH Africa offers the ease of Airbnb’s marketplace, the professional networks of LinkedIn, and (soon) the transformative power of AI for rapid digitisation of static content into dynamic and interactive formats.

MLH enables organizations to automate attendance tracking, CPD/CME points issuance and instant certificate generation for both virtual and in-person trainings. Organizations can also integrate MLH with own platforms like Zoom, Teams and even in-house e-Learning solutions

MLH also enables health professionals to connect and discover new virtual and in person learning opportunities through our content and events listing market place.

Our cutting-edge dashboards simplify tracking and improvement of training outcomes for organisations.
MLH is available as both mobile app (with offline capabilities) and web app.

Join us in creating a new era of healthcare worker training in Africa.

LuraSCAN by Light Ai

The Problem

Annually, WHO identifies 616 million cases of Group A Beta-Haemolytic Streptococcal (GAS) pharyngitis, treatable with early antibiotic intervention.

However, in low and middle-income countries (LMICs), the scarcity of diagnostic resources leads to numerous undetected cases, with resulting in severe complications like Rheumatic Heart Disease (RHD)

In response, Light Ai (a Canadian based organization) is eager to address this challenge with a rapid and sustainable AI-driven diagnostic solution (Lura Scan Mobile App) to improve healthcare outcomes in Africa.

The solution

  • Lura Scan Mobile, is an innovative app that seeks to transform smartphones into diagnostic tools, enabling healthcare workers to perform accurate throat scans.
  • Utilizing AI, the app distinguishes between bacterial infections (potentially GAS) and viral infections, facilitating prompt and precise screening & treatment decisions.
  • We use our local footprint, database of HCPs on MLH to support Light Ai’s goal and commitment of swiftly and sustainably scaling this technology across Africa, starting with strategic market testing and commercialization in Kenya and Uganda.
  • Our goal is to optimize the solution’s impact, incorporate into our suite of licensed in solutions, devise effective market entry strategies, ensure regulatory compliance, and expand the reach of this transformative technology to enhance healthcare accessibility and quality in LMICs.

Scientifically Validated

A small clinical trial in Uganda (2023) demonstrated the solution’s effectiveness in distinguishing between bacterial and viral throat infections. We aim to conduct further trials to enrich our knowledge base.

Strong viable use case

Considerable potential as a cost-effective screening method for Group A Streptococcal Pharyngitis, which could notably decrease the occurrence of Rheumatic Heart Disease and Rheumatic Fever in lower-income regions.

Easy to launch

Digital, AI-enhanced mobile app designed for easy access by healthcare workers in various locations, bypassing the need for costly and bulky diagnostic equipment.

Novel Oncology Drug

The Problem

  • Innovative oncology treatments often face significant delays reaching Low- and Middle-Income Countries (LMICs), where the need is most acute.
  • The scarcity of scalable and sustainable access models hampers the distribution across these regions.
  • Nonetheless, several leading global pharmaceutical companies are committed to exploring and implementing viable solutions to enhance health outcomes universally.

The solution

  • Representing a renowned multinational pharmaceutical company, we are at the forefront of launching a ground-breaking oncology product in East and Western Africa, beginning with Kenya.
  • Through a licensing model, we are acting as the Local Technical Representative, and already forging partnerships to establish the necessary regulatory and quality assurance frameworks for local product registration and approval.
  • Our approach included conducting a comprehensive market analysis and the development of a digital-first go-to-market strategy.
  • Following product approval, our focus will shift to spearheading the commercialization efforts, which will include advanced oncology education for healthcare professionals through our Modern Learning Healthcare (MLH) platform and innovative e-detailing initiatives.
